The Times' 2006 Ryder Cup blog

I'm still trying to comprehend how USA is showing tape-delayed coverage of the Ryder Cup. Rigth now we're watching the beginning of the morning matches which took place seven hours ago, when the afternoon session is getting heated.
The network should have begun its 7 a.m. coverage live, and then replayed the morning session. This is ridiculous. Everyone that is a big enough fan of what is going on in Ireland already knows what happened this morning!!!
We're a dang newspaper and we post stuff live now, you figured television could get with it.

I couldn't agree more with your comments on coverage being tape delayed. Not only did USA network do it, but now on Saturday and I see also Sunday, NBC is doing the same thing. You would think in today's internet age, where anyone can find out the scores, they would have live coverage.

My advice to all interested viewers, don't watch as the only recourse we have is to vote with our pocket books and make the advertisers waste their money, which is what I'm doing. No reason to watch events I already know the outcome!!
